Hello BRC members,
The pistol league will be going outdoors in May. We will be shooting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our matches start in June and are on Tuesday nights. We will be finishing up our indoor league with a handicap match May 6th and 8th. We welcome all interested shooters. Bring your .22 and/or a center pistol and see how much fun you can have. Call me with any questions at 608.754.7096

Hello members, I apologize for not getting an article in the last newsletter. Seems I may have had a problem with my e-mail. Not finding out until it was too late.
As we get into 2008 our ownership of firearms will face even more pressure. New legislation will be coming from our governor. As an example, the governor would like to have every gun “ballistic fingerprinted”, even shotguns. This would be a huge cost to us and the industry, and what good would it do?
On the national level, the Democratic candidate for president has not yet been determined. Hilary or Barack. Who can pass more restrictions and regulations to to control our lives. That seems to be the argument between them. We now know who will be running for the Republicans. John “not so conservative” McCain.
This coming election could be the turning point for firearm ownership. Hilary would like more control than her husband did and Barack voted in Illinois to make it against the law to protect yourself with a gun in your own home. At least with McCain we have a chance that he may choose, a running mate who is conservative and will stand up for gun owners rights. Heck, just stand up for our rights.
I would like to thank a few of our members that did some refinishing in the indoor range. The ceiling, benches along the wall, the inside doors and each firing point door were replaced and refinished with paint and stain. It looks great. Thanks to Jim Case (foreman), Chuck Novacheck, Bud Owen, Ron Becket and John Walters. The range looks outstanding. I would also like to thank Dennis Goddard for getting our ventilation system repaired. It was a bit cold in there on an occasion or two. Please, if you feel that our equipment is not running properly call someone on the board of directors. Do not attempt to fix it yourself. One of us will see that the proper maintenance is done.
Remember when using the indoor range. NO jacketed bullets. Target velocity loads only, keeping them under 900 fps. And please clean up after yourself. Don’t forget we shoot Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We are always looking for new shooters.
Think Spring,
